Overview
Join to apply for the Volunteer role at Abbeyfield.
At Abbeyfield Living Society, our amazing volunteers are the heart of what we do. Without their dedication, many older people in our communities could feel isolated and alone. But with your time, you can change that.
Role
Volunteer
Location
Pratt House, Quill Hall Lane, Amersham, HP6 6LU
What skills and experience do I need?
The most important thing you bring is yourself! We have roles for everyone, regardless of experience. Your time, energy, and enthusiasm are all we need to get started. Of course, if you have specific skills you’d like to share, let us know. We’re always looking for ways to make the most of your talents.
What support and training will I be given?
We provide a comprehensive induction program tailored to your specific volunteer role. This includes all the training and support you need to feel comfortable and empowered to make a difference from day one.
Will I be invited for an interview?
After you apply, we’ll invite you for an informal interview to get to know each other better. It’s a chance for you to learn about the role and for us to see if you’d be a great fit for the team.
DBS check and references
The safety and wellbeing of our residents is our top priority. Our volunteering roles require two references and a DBS check. The cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield. You may be asked to provide details regarding convictions; failure to disclose convictions may result in an offer being revoked.
About You
It’s not just about the skills you bring – it’s about the impact you make. Your time and companionship can mean the world to someone who might be feeling lonely or isolated.
* Don’t have specific skills? We’re happy to train you and help you discover new talents. The most important thing is your willingness to share your time and make a connection.
Please note this volunteer will require eligibility to work in the UK, two satisfactory references and an Enhanced DBS check, the cost of which will be met by Abbeyfield. You may be asked to provide details regarding convictions; failure to disclose convictions may result in an offer being revoked.
