The post holder plays a vital role in recruiting and providing administrative support for Junior Medical staff at the Trust. Responsibilities include coordinating lead employer doctors, managing recruitment and selection for trust-employed junior medical staff and vacant lead employer posts, calculating salaries, overseeing inductions, terms and conditions of service, and organizing locum doctors across specialties.
The role involves delivering comprehensive, efficient advice and support to Clinical Business Units, ensuring adherence to terms, conditions of service, and Trust policies.
The post holder liaises with the Medical Director, Chief Executives Office, Divisional Medical Director, Lead Consultants, the Director of Postgraduate Medical and Dental Education, and external bodies such as the GMC, HEY, Royal Colleges, Immigration and Border Authority, DBS, and BMA.
Working within HR policies and wider legislation related to medical HR issues, the post holder operates independently, seeking advice from the Medical Staffing Manager and Senior Medical Staffing Officer as needed. The role involves managing work amidst frequent interruptions and changing priorities.
Main Duties
1. Ensure delivery of a cost-effective, professional recruitment, selection, and retention service for Medical Staff, complying with Trust policies, legislation, and NHS requirements.
2. Conduct and supervise recruitment activities from advertising to pre-employment checks.
3. Coordinate junior doctor rotations, identify gaps, recruit as necessary, liaise with rota coordinators, Consultants, and the Medical Education Centre, and organize inductions.
4. Prepare and update employment contracts and documentation, ensure timely issuance, and handle inquiries about contracts, escalating issues when necessary.
5. Advise on immigration requirements, prepare documentation, apply for Work Permits, and communicate complex immigration information to international staff.
