We combine proprietary, multi‑modal data and agentic AI to unlock supply, unlock demand, and empower creators—ultimately reducing market friction and enabling smarter, faster transactions. We partner with leading institutions and power decision‑making across the ecosystem. The Role We’re hiring a Chief Financial Officer (Seed Stage) who is excited to wear a dual CFO COO hat from day one. You’ll build our finance function from the ground up while architecting the operational backbone of the business—owning cash, controls, compliance, and the cadence that keeps the company running. You’ll be a senior cross‑functional leader, partnering with GTM, Product, Engineering, and the exec team to translate strategy into operating systems and results. This role is ideal for a strategic, hands‑on operator who thrives in seed‑stage ambiguity, can switch between models and meetings effortlessly, and loves turning first principles into robust systems. As we grow: Expect the remit to evolve. You may stand up a full‑time COO function (hiring and onboarding the leader, migrating responsibilities) and transition into a focused CFO scope while continuing to own capital strategy and the finance organisation. What you’ll do Finance (CFO) Own the model: Build, maintain, and iterate our financial models (MRR/ARR, bookings, pipeline, gross margin, cash runway, unit economics). Scenario planning for product, pricing, and hiring. Cashflow management: Daily/weekly/monthly cashflow management; working capital, collections, vendor terms; treasury/FX where needed. Set and enforce spend controls. Accounting & reporting: Manage accountants; own monthly close, management accounts, and board packs. Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and filings. Budgeting & planning: Annual operating plan; quarterly re‑forecasting; departmental budgets; headcount planning and approvals. Investor relations & fundraising: Build the data room; own finance narratives, metrics, and diligence; support equity/debt structuring. Tax & incentives: Oversee VAT, payroll, and corporate tax; coordinate R&D claims and relevant credits/incentives. KPI & insights: Define and instrument the metrics that matter (productivity, sales efficiency, retention/churn, gross margin, payback). Create dashboards and a recurring operating cadence (weekly exec, monthly board, quarterly planning). Operations (COO‑leaning) People & HR (early‑stage): Own the basics—employment contracts, onboarding/offboarding, payroll, benefits administration, and handbook/policies. Partner on org design and workforce planning. Legal & risk: Coordinate with external counsel on commercial agreements (MSAs, NDAs, DPAs), vendor terms, employment matters, IP, and any investment/partnership documentation. Compliance & privacy: Implement pragmatic controls across finance, data protection (e.g., GDPR), and information security appropriate for enterprise clients (in close collaboration with our CTO). Procurement & vendors: Source and manage core back‑office tools (accounting, payroll, HR, cap table, spend management). Business operations: Drive cross‑functional planning and execution. Unblock teams, streamline processes, and turn strategy into action. Go‑to‑market enablement: Support pricing & packaging, commercial policy, and deal review. Help craft scalable enterprise terms alongside Sales and Product. What you’ll bring 5 years in a senior finance role (e.g., Head of Finance, VP Finance, CFO) with meaningful operational leadership in a high‑growth startup or scale‑up. Fluency in SaaS/enterprise metrics and revenue recognition; comfort with API/data products is a plus. Proven mastery of financial modelling and board‑level reporting; you can move from first principles to executable plans fast. Track record running lean finance operations (month‑end close, audits, forecasting) and setting up systems and controls from scratch. Experience coordinating with external accountants, lawyers, and tax advisors; familiarity with UK/EU frameworks (Companies House, HMRC, VAT, GDPR) strongly preferred. High ownership, low ego; you enjoy rolling up your sleeves (no task too small) while keeping a strategic horizon. Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with technical and commercial leaders. Bonus Background in marketplaces, fintech, data, or enterprise SaaS. Exposure to the art, luxury, or collectibles ecosystem. Experience with capital raises (seed/Series A), debt facilities, and treasury. How we work London access for key meetings is a plus. Builder mindset, high trust, high standards. We value speed with rigour, and data‑driven decisions. Compensation Competitive salary equity. We tailor packages based on experience.
