About the role
This school is for young people who have a statement primarily identifying Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs, including a range of secondary needs such as moderate learning communication, interaction and attachment and trauma. This general teaching role is an opportunity to make a positive difference for those students who require additional support to access their mainstream schooling and overcome barriers to learning and improved behaviour.
Working in close collaboration with a team of Teaching Assistants, hub coordinators and the leadership team, you will help deliver a curriculum that supports students, who access our centre, to improve their attendance, behaviour for learning and wellbeing.
You will be supporting them to embrace routines and ultimately become re-engaged in mainstream education. You will be teaching much smaller classes than in mainstream academies, as this special needs school focuses on personal development and the health and well being of students, whilst not losing academic rigour.
