About the role…
We’re recruiting Advanced Clinical Practitioners (ACP) from various professional backgrounds including nurses, pharmacists, and paramedics. If you’re experienced, hold a Masters level award or equivalent, and are keen to take on an expanded role within Primary Care, we welcome your application.
As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner in our Urgent Treatment Centres, you will support existing clinical care to enhance the capacity and capability within our multi-professional teams.
You will assess the health and clinical needs of patients, undertake consultations as an autonomous practitioner, and use your advanced clinical practice skills and clinical judgement to diagnose, treat, refer, or discharge patients. This role involves face-to-face consultations supported by a flexible rota covering weekdays, evenings, overnight shifts, weekends, and bank holidays.

Your day-to-day responsibilities include:
* Leading clinical teams during shifts
* Conducting consultations with patients, including taking comprehensive histories, physical examinations, and applying your expert knowledge and clinical judgement to identify potential diagnoses
* Deciding on and administering treatments, including prescribing medications or referring to primary or secondary care services within local pathways and protocols
* Providing clinical advice and mentorship to junior staff
Qualifications, Experience & Training…
* Registered Nurse, Paramedic, Pharmacist
* Master’s Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice (or equivalent)
* Evidence of study in minor illness
* Independent prescriber
* Evidence of study in minor injury or willingness to develop these skills
* Evidence of study in paediatric minor illness and injury or willingness to develop these skills
* Learning and Development time (5% of weekly hours)
* Initial starting leave entitlement of 36 days annually (including Bank Holidays)

We are recruiting ACPs across several sites in Staffordshire, Yorkshire, and the North East.
Successful candidates will be required to complete pre-hire checks, including Right to Work in the UK and a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
