Environmental Project Manager – WSP UK & Ireland

Join WSP’s Environmental Project Management Team to deliver environmentally‑led projects across the UK in both public and private sectors.
We are looking for Project Managers who will support the delivery of a diverse and exciting range of projects, including infrastructure schemes such as National Grid’s Great Grid Upgrade, Heathrow Expansion, East‑West Rail, and Sizewell C.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the development of project proposals, determining project requirements, scope, resources, programme and cost estimates.
* Develop and maintain project management documentation (plans, budgets, risk registers, schedules, stakeholder registers, organisation charts).
* Monitor and control the project schedule, staff hours, budgets, forecasts and expenditure.
* Ensure health & safety compliance for site visits and secure internal approvals.
* Undertake contract management and administration.
* Actively manage project change and risks, ensuring governance and compliance.
* Lead, mentor and develop multi‑disciplinary environmental teams.
* Promote environmental improvement and net‑zero strategies.
* Serve as the face of Environment & Consents to external stakeholders and internal WSP teams.
Required Skills & Experience
* Experience as Assistant Project Manager or Project Manager in a project/PMO environment, preferably in environment or sustainability sectors.
* Knowledge of programme management, WBS, dependencies, critical path and experience with MS Project/Primavera P6.
* Commercial and contractual awareness, financial acumen and proven track record of delivering projects within budget.
* Membership or working towards membership of a professional institution (PMI, APM, MIEnvSc, MIEMA, MRICS, etc.).
* Strong communicator, written and verbal, able to keep teams and stakeholders informed.
* Interest or experience in environmental and land‑based sustainable development.
