Job Title: Project Manager - Engineering
Location: Haverfordwest
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
Salary: Up to £45,000 depending in experience
Role
A proactive and detail-oriented Project Engineer that will oversee and support the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects from concept through to completion. You will play a key role in coordinating technical activities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in line with budget, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Assist in the planning, design, and execution of engineering projects, ensuring alignment with company goals and regulatory requirements.
* Collaborate with internal teams (engineering, production, SMT) and external contractors or suppliers.
* Monitor project schedules, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
* Prepare technical documents, specifications, and reports to support project development and execution.
* Conduct site visits and inspections to track progress, quality, and compliance with health & safety standards.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and post-project evaluations.
* Ensure all project work complies with relevant legislation, industry standards, and company policies.
* Any other reasonable duty as requested by a manager and commensurate with role level.
* Ensure that all operating values and compliance procedures are met including Food Safety, Hygiene, Quality, HSE and Legal.
Skills & Qualifications
* Industry recognised trade qualifications.
* Experienced and competent in a relevant trade with skills across multiple trades.
* Ability to work on your own initiative and work safely.
* Knowledge of regulations and compliance in the food industry.
* Strong communication skills with an open, honest, and approachable manner.
* Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, and analytical skills.
* Ability to work under pressure, use initiative, and meet deadlines.
* Highly organised, methodical, and attentive to detail.
* Flexible and adaptable to change with appropriate notice.
* Read & interpret engineering drawings and translate them into practical processes.
* Proficient with design and visualisation software (e.g. AutoCAD, Circos, Google Charts, DataWrapper).
* Developing budgets, tracking costs, and managing subcontractor hours.
* Strong teamwork with ability to build morale & support continuous improvement.
