Principal Wastewater Modeller – Arcadis

We are seeking a Principal Wastewater Modeller to lead model development, manage project aspects, and work closely with clients to expand our portfolio through strategic client interactions. Collaboration, proactive problem‑solving, and creative thinking are central to our Water team’s approach.
Responsibilities
* Deliver wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure modelling projects, managing tasks of various scales.
* Conduct technical reviews of models, oversee model build and verification of sewer networks, and survey specifications.
* Develop strategic solutions to mitigate flooding and reduce CSO spills.
* Provide design support at concept outline and detailed design stages.
* Review and enhance technical reports and presentations to uphold high‑quality standards.
* Resolve technical modelling challenges on projects and contribute to advancing team technical expertise.
* Ensure project components—including reports, drawings, specifications, and studies—comply with relevant standards and requirements.
* Collaborate closely with clients, providing clear explanations and ensuring they understand model outputs and processes.
* Support and guide junior team members, fostering a collaborative work environment.
* Assist with preparation of bids, including narratives, cost estimates and programmes.
* Coordinate project elements, managing resource allocation, quality assurance, subcontractor interactions and client feedback.
* Work alongside specialists from other engineering and environmental disciplines to ensure project integrity.
* Liaise effectively with the Project Director or Manager and the client to support project progress.
Qualifications & Experience
* Advanced expertise in hydraulic modelling for wastewater infrastructure and non‑infrastructure projects.
* Skilled in team and stakeholder coordination and management.
* Proficient in InfoWorks ICM.
* HADES knowledge advantageous.
* Competent in GIS software packages.
* Chartered member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., ICE or CIWEM).
* Proven experience in model quality assurance procedures.
* Strong report‑writing skills.
* Advanced abilities in spreadsheet‑based data analysis.
* Coding experience desirable.
