Job Title: Business Development Manager
Reports to: Head of Sales and Marketing
Location: Hybrid – 1 day/week at Head Office (Bracknell), with home working and travel across Kent, Essex, and London
Salary: Basic + Commission (OTE: £75,000+)
Company Overview Our client is a large trusted provider of cleaning services across the South. Servicing over 500 clients across the educational, healthcare, commercial and lesuire buildings, ensuring the attention to detail is at the forefront of their minds.

Role Overview

As a Business Development Manager, you will play a key role in accelerating our growth by identifying, engaging, and securing new business opportunities. This is a new business generation role, not account management.

Key Responsibilities

* Conduct outbound prospecting activities 2 days per week using variety of research and lead generation methods.
* Secure a set number of qualified appointments weekly, targeting designated geographic areas as directed by the Head of Sales and Marketing.
* Respond promptly to inbound leads, qualifying opportunities and arranging appointments.
* Attend site visits to meet prospective clients, assess their needs, survey buildings, and prepare service proposals.
* Manage the full sales cycle—from initial contact and quotation through to contract closure and service commencement.
* Negotiate pricing and handle objections effectively.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective clients to maximise conversion rates.

Candidate ProfileEssential Experience & Skills:

* Proven track record in direct B2B sales—ideally within the cleaning, FM, or associated sectors.
* Experience generating annual contract values of £1.5M or more.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Demonstrated ability to prospect and secure new business.
* Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset and “hunter” mentality.
* Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
* Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

* Experience selling into education and/or healthcare sectors (training will be provided if required).
