Overview
The Day Service Worker plays a vital role in supporting young adults with disabilities in a unique farm-based environment. This position is about more than care – it's about encouraging independence, building confidence, and making every day meaningful. You'll help service users engage in farm activities, explore arts and crafts, join in day trips, and enjoy a wide variety of daily tasks designed to keep life fresh, fun, and fulfilling.
We're looking for someone who is compassionate, creative, and practical, with the ability to bring new ideas and a big smile to the table each day.
Duties & Responsibilities
* Support service users with farm-based activities (feeding animals, light gardening, farm walks, etc.)
* Facilitate daily activities in the activity room such as arts, crafts, cooking, games, and workshops
* Plan and deliver engaging sessions that promote independence, learning, and fun
* Organise and take part in day trips and community outings
* Assist with personal needs where required, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
* Safely transport service users to and from the farm in the company vehicle
* Build positive, supportive relationships with service users, families, and colleagues
* Maintain accurate records of activities, progress, and care provided
* Be flexible and responsive to the changing needs of individuals and the service
Skills & Experience
* Experience working with young adults with disabilities (preferred but not essential – training provided)
* Creative thinker with the ability to develop fresh, fun, and engaging activity ideas
* A caring, patient, and positive approach with strong communication skills
* Confidence in supporting individuals to build skills and independence
* Full UK driving licence (essential) – to provide transport in the company car
* Team player with the ability to work independently when needed
* Basic First Aid knowledge (training can be provided)
