Senior Associate / Legal Director - Banking & Finance, 5+ PQE - Permanent- Glasgow or Edinburgh
The Opportunity
An established and highly regarded Banking & Finance team is looking to appoint a Senior Associate or Legal Director to support a broad mix of complex transactional and advisory work. This role offers exposure to high-value, often market-leading finance matters across sectors, with a particular focus on real estate finance, leveraged finance and corporate funding.
You’ll be joining a large, specialist finance practice with a strong reputation in the market, working alongside experienced colleagues who are regularly involved in innovative and high-profile transactions. The position also offers genuine scope to contribute to the ongoing growth of the team through relationship development and business generation.
Key Responsibilities
* Advising on a wide range of banking and finance matters, including drafting and negotiating loan agreements, security documentation and related legal opinions
* Managing transactions end-to-end, coordinating input from other practice areas on multi-disciplinary matters
* Producing clear, commercial written advice and research for clients and broader publication
* Supervising, mentoring and developing junior team members
* Building trusted relationships with clients and supporting business development initiatives
* Contributing to sector-focused and firmwide initiatives aligned with client needs
* Ensuring compliance with information security and confidentiality standards at all times
You will be!
* 5+ years’ PQE with a strong grounding in banking and finance work
* Genuine interest in complex finance transactions and evolving market practice
* Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
* Confident communicator who adapts style to suit different audiences
* Commercially minded, with an understanding of clients’ objectives and pressures
* Able to manage competing deadlines and priorities effectively
* Strong team player with the confidence to take ownership of matters
* Motivated to stay up to date with legal and regulatory developments impacting finance work
