Remuneration: $55.09 - $67.15 per hour (dependent on qualifications) + superannuation + salary packaging + rural incentives

Employment Type: Permanent Part Time

Position Classification: Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2, Clinical Midwife Specialist Grade 2, Occupational Therapist Level 3, Counsellor Level 3, Social Worker Level 3, Clinical Psychologist

Location: Tamworth Community Health Service

Hours Per Week: 24


About Us

The Perinatal Infant Mental Health Service (PIMHS) is a specialist program supporting parents and their infants where there is severe, acute, or complex mental illness, or risk of relapse during the perinatal period. We provide care for those who are pregnant or parenting a child under two years of age.

This role sits within the local Adult Mental Health Team, with leadership and line management provided by the HNELHD CAMHS CCI, Special Programs & Partnerships Manager. The position is based at Dean House, Tamworth, as part of the New England North West Mental Health Service.


About the Role

PIMHS delivers time-limited, intensive perinatal and infant mental health support, including both direct clinical care and specialist consultation. Our work spans a range of complex presentations such as severe depression, anxiety, postpartum psychosis, bipolar affective disorder, schizophrenia, complex trauma, and personality disorders.

You’ll work collaboratively with allocated mental health clinicians and across adult, infant, and child health services to ensure coordinated care for both parent and infant. A key part of this role is building care pathways and linking families with ongoing supports in the community.

As part of our supportive and multidisciplinary team, you’ll receive:

* Direct supervision and leadership from the CAMHS CCI Special Programs & Partnerships Manager
* Access to regular clinical supervision

About You

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Clinician who is committed to supporting parents and infants experiencing acute mental health challenges. You’ll bring strong clinical expertise, emotional intelligence, and a client-centred approach to care. The ability to build positive, therapeutic relationships will be central to your success in optimising outcomes for families.

Requirements:

* Must hold a qualification in one of the following: Occupational Therapy, Clin Psychology/clin psych in training, Nursing, Social Work, Counsellor (Degree in Bachelor of Health Science Mental health, Djirruwang Program), which provides eligibility or membership of the relevant professional association general registration through the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. For CMS2 or CNS2: relevant post-registration qualifications and at least 3 years experience working in the clinical area of a post-graduate qualification.
* Eligibility to drive in NSW and interstate and the willingness to travel in the course of employment.
