Step into Global Trade Finance with a Leading Steel Procurement Firm
Since 1973, Kubach & Sambrook (Metals) Ltd has been at the forefront of global steel trading. With offices in London, Mumbai, Shanghai, and Johannesburg, we move steel products across continents—efficiently, economically, and with precision.
Now, we're looking for a commercially minded Accountant & Administrator to manage our UK finance function and support complex international operations.
If you're confident working across multi-currency transactions, foreign exchange management, and the end-to-end finance of international trade, this role is tailor-made for you
What You'll Be Doing:
· Own the full accounting cycle: A/P, A/R, general ledger, monthly close
· Manage international FX and multi-currency transactions across GBP, USD, EUR, INR, and RMB
· Reconcile global banking activity and support hedging/FX strategies
· Lead and maintain import/export documentation and compliance
· Collaborate with freight forwarders, shipping lines, and customs agents
· Produce financial statements, cashflow forecasts, and budget reports
· Oversee HMRC compliance, VAT returns, and international tax considerations
· Administer trade-related insurance, legal contracts, and statutory filings
· Coordinate financial input from our offices in Asia and Africa for consolidated reporting
· Support the implementation of new accounting systems and digital finance processes
What We're Looking For:
· MAAT/CIMA/ACCA qualified OR qualified by experience (min. 5 years in UK-based finance roles)
· Demonstrated experience in international trade finance, especially in manufacturing, commodities, or logistics
· Proven hands-on involvement in foreign exchange and multi-currency reconciliations
· Skilled in coordinating logistics and finance across borders—bonus if you've handled shipping documents or customs clearance
· Advanced Excel and working knowledge of accounting software or ERP systems
· Meticulous attention to detail, commercial awareness, and the ability to work independently
· Strong communication skills with confidence to liaise with overseas teams and stakeholders
Why Join Us?
· Be a key finance and operations partner in a globally connected company
· Gain exposure to international trade deals and strategic commercial decision-making
· Play a lead role in modernising finance systems and controls
