Job summary: A permanent Band 5 Speech and Language Therapy position working with adults, rotating across four specialist teams (Stroke, Neuro-medical, Head and Neck Cancer/ENT, and Adult Learning Disabilities) within Swansea Bay University Health Board. The post is full-time and involves development opportunities, supervision, training, and MDT collaboration.
Responsibilities
* Assess and manage communication and swallowing difficulties within each rotation, with supervision.
* Travel between sites as required and contribute to training and education for family, patients, and staff.
* Work with care and compassion, upholding the Health Board values within SLT teams and wider MDTs.

Essential Qualifications & Experience
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent
* Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council
* Registered with the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
* Clinical placement or previous post; autonomous caseload management
* Planning and implementation of treatment
* Ability to travel between sites and work in MDT settings
Desirable
* Relevant postgraduate courses
* Membership of professional bodies; experience in audit/project work
Essential Aptitude and Abilities
* Accurate assessment administration and analysis; competent IT skills
* Clear verbal and written communication; ability to share complex information
* Ability to work independently and manage conflicts; contribute to MDT case management
* Understanding of Public Service policies (Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Equality and Diversity)
* Ability to concentrate for prolonged periods; handle distressing information
* Ability to manage challenging working conditions (e.g., sputum, body fluids, aggression)
Other Essential Criteria
* Ability to travel between sites to meet business needs
* Flexibility to participate in 7-day rota work
* Satisfactory DBS clearance including Adults and Children barred list checks
