The BBC is looking for a creative broadcast journalist to produce content for BBC Breakfast and the BBC News at One.
We need a team player who can work under significant pressure and react to unfolding events, with an understanding of BBC audiences and the ability to connect across all BBC platforms.
Key Responsibilities
* Regularly contribute ideas for stories, segments, guests, and story developments.
* Book guests and write briefs for BBC Breakfast and the BBC News at One.
* Exercise editorial judgment in developing story ideas and producing accurate and impartial journalism.
* Liaise closely with other team members and departments to ensure output material is shared, duplication is avoided, and best practice is upheld.
* Prioritize and plan activities, taking into account deadlines, staffing, and resources available.
* Carry out duties in accordance with the BBC health and safety policy.
* Comply with media law and OFCOM guidelines.
Requirements
* A journalist with experience in broadcast, print, or online, with a background knowledge of political, legal, and lifestyle issues.
* Ability to contribute ideas at key meetings with an eye for creative storytelling, package production, and guest booking.
* Understanding of BBC Editorial guidelines, policies, and values.
* Willingness to work unsocial hours, including nights and weekend shifts.
