LET’S CUT STRAIGHT TO IT
We’re seeking a Reservoir Engineer to join our Dams & Reservoirs team as a trainee Supervising Engineer. This role is critical in ensuring the safety and compliance of large and small, raised reservoirs under the Reservoirs Act and planned future legislation. Once appointed to the Supervising Engineers’ Panel, you’ll oversee approximately complex reservoir sites, ensuring inspections, monitoring, and statutory testing are completed to the highest standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Manage projects assessing reservoirs under legislative changes.
2. Oversee non-capital reservoir projects and act as NEC Project Manager.
3. Develop compliant work programmes for complex structures and manage resources.
4. Drive risk assessments, investigations, and asset improvements for SRRs.
5. Contribute to the development of the Business Plan for the dams and impounding reservoirs and service reservoirs asset class.
6. Ensure accurate data collation, reporting, and compliance with legislation.
7. Supervise statutory valve testing and liaise with operations teams.
You’ll work within our Dams & Reservoirs team. With this being such a critical role, we’re looking for someone who can join us hours a week and as travel across our whole patch is required, you’ll need to hold a full driving licence.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
8. Degree in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
9. Experience delivering multi-site projects with operational, water quality and H&S risk management.
10. Strong knowledge of the Reservoirs Act and reservoir types.
11. Skilled in contractor management and cross-team collaboration.
12. Come from an Engineering background and knowledge of the water industry
13. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
14. Demonstrate a strong desire to progress their career
Qualifications
15. Near IEng status with ambition to achieve Supervising Engineer status by .
16. Full UK driving licence (essential).
