Description Due to continued growth to position of Site Engineer has become available to join a large HV Transmissions project in Lincolnshire. The primary purpose of a site engineer is to ensure that construction projects are completed accurately and safely. They provide technical advice, manage staff on-site, and ensure compliance with health and safety standards. Site engineers are responsible for overseeing all on-site activities to ensure they align with the project’s design, specifications, and legal requirements. They also manage daily site activities, solve problems that arise during construction, and help keep the project running smoothly from start to finish. LI-AW1 Responsibilities Responsibilities Assist in the establishment of the site and overall delivery of the project supporting the team & management as required. Assist & support in the preparation, implementation & maintaining of formal QA / QC documentation on site including Inspection Test Plans and Check sheets. · Work effectively and efficiently alongside other members of the construction team to support them in their role. Undertake Engineering roles using current equipment including Total Station / GPS / CAT & Genny as required throughout the project. Keep accurate site records and QA, (ITPs, level and survey records, concrete cubes etc) identifying any variances or issues and provided feedback to line managers. Assist in the management of subcontractors and the supply chain as directed. Assist in project design co-ordination and distribution of documentation relevant to the site works. Hold specific site-based responsibilities as determined at site level, typically permits to work. Assist & support in the completion & co-ordination of regular mandatory & regulatory inspections for the project as directed, including SHE, LOLER, PUWER etc. Assist in development, monitor & report on 5-6 week look ahead schedules inclusive of the supply chain and other stakeholders. · As required, prepare & implement Risk Assessments & Method Statements for directly resourced works. Assist in the implementation and management of SHE Qual systems and any associated reviews or audits. Plan and procure materials & plant as required for works on site as required and ensure efficient use / stocks are maintained provide feedback and identification of any issues in a timely manner. Assist in producing accurate as constructed drawings with red line mark ups for use by the design team to formalise as constructed drawings. Promote continuous improvement in everything undertaken and share good practice within the project, back to Costain centre and to the wider industry. Attend / arrange weekly co-ordination, progress and programme /resource meetings as required. LI-AW1 Qualifications Essential HV Transmissions experience Degree/HNC level qualification in a relevant engineering subject. Understanding of engineering principles. Technical knowledge of construction techniques and best practices. Some civil / MEICA construction experience. Design Management experience. Relevant CSCS Card. Full Clean Drivers Licence Desirable Degree in Civil Engineering Experience working on a National Grid project Vocational Training (successful experience at Graduate Engineer level)
