Product Owner – Inquiry Management Group
We are seeking a Product Owner to join the Inquiry Management Group within the BNY Payments Enablement Enterprise Platform team. This role is based in Manchester.
Overview

This role sits within the Inquiry Management Group, responsible for managing and resolving transactional inquiries across the payments lifecycle, with a focus on operational support, client experience, and platform resiliency.
Responsibilities
* Lead the "Capture, Route, and Distribute" Pod in the Inquiry Management Group.
* Establish, enhance, and refine the channels through which inquiries are received, consumed, and processed downstream.
* Focus on MX migration related to ISO 20022 while optimizing operations and client experience for handling inquiries.
* Drive efficiency, foster transparency, and ensure reliable outcomes while adhering to industry standards.
* Collaborate with operations, compliance, IT, and client-facing teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalent.
* Extensive experience in transaction banking, with several years in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst role.
* Proven experience with payment investigations, payment processing, SWIFT messaging, or reconciliation.
* Deep understanding of payment transactions, rails, workflows, and cross-border payments (e.g., SWIFT, SEPA, Fedwire, CHAPS).
* Knowledge of ISO 20022 and legacy messaging (MT); awareness of regulatory requirements (AML, sanctions screening, FATF, PSD2, Travel Rule, etc.).
* Experience as a Product Owner in Agile/Scrum; ability to write clear user stories, define acceptance criteria, and manage backlogs.
* Strong stakeholder management and collaboration with development teams, testers, and business SMEs.
* Technical understanding of API integration, workflow systems, and case management tools; proficient with JIRA, Confluence, Excel, iGrafx, and data visualization tools.
