Within the General and Specialist Medicine Care group is Cardiology, Diabetes & Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Health Care of Older People, Neurology, Renal, Rheumatology, and respiratory departments., The appointee will be expected to cover forabsence of colleagues (including on call cover) atshort notice, e.g. sickness. Cover outside the Rotarequiring extra hours of work will be paid asadditional work at nationally agreed rates and willbe coordinated to be compliant with the relevantlegislation.It is expected that the post holder will play anactive part in the training of junior medical staff.They will also be expected to supervise, educateand assist medical students.The post holder should take an active part inclinical audit, journal club and departmentalteaching sessions. Regular appraisals will occurand the post holder will be expected to take partin CPD.
Applicants must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and have completed the UK foundation programme or equivalent.
