Change Grow Live are looking to recruit a Specialty Doctor for their substance misuse treatment service.
The post holders will work under the Consultant Psychiatrist for the service and have responsibility to work with a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care for clients of both services.
Main duties of the job
The post-holders will contribute to the service to ensure that service users consistently receive high-quality services that adhere to best practice guidelines and achieve high professional standards. They will be responsible for contributing to the overall performance of the service to ensure that contractual output targets are achieved. They will be required to record and input client data and information to ensure the service operates within contractual, administrative, and financial requirements.
The successful candidates will be expected to provide a constant stimulus for improving clinical services and be a role model. They will have a recovery-focused approach to treatment.
Successful candidates will have access to a well-developed monthly CPD program, receive regular structured supervision, and be fully supported in the appraisal and revalidation process. All doctors within Change Grow Live receive weekly protected CPD and are encouraged and supported to engage in clinical audit and research. Applicants should have experience in addiction medicine.

Job responsibilities
We are seeking a Specialty Doctor to join our Substance Misuse Treatment Service in Tower Hamlets.
The post-holder will contribute to ensuring service users receive high-quality services that follow best practice guidelines and meet professional standards. They will also contribute to the overall performance to meet contractual targets.
The role requires flexible working across operational sites, including some evenings and weekends, based on service user needs.
They will be responsible for personal development, training needs, supervision, appraisal, and revalidation.
Role-specific responsibilities
This role reports to the Clinical Lead/Consultant Psychiatrist or Regional Lead Consultant and involves duties such as:
* Providing clinical assessments for substance misusers
* Planning and delivering tailored treatment plans
* Monitoring treatment progress and keeping accurate records
* Collaborating with relevant professionals and organizations
* Providing clinical advice and liaison
* Engaging with patients and providing healthcare and mental health assessments
* Prescribing assessments and initiating treatment regimes in line with legislation and guidelines
* Supporting nursing staff and ensuring effective administration and audit processes
* Supporting service development, research, and clinical governance
* Utilizing evidence-based interventions to promote engagement and recovery
* Covering duties of colleagues as needed to ensure continuity of care
* Participating in cross-cover arrangements and providing guidance to less experienced staff
Maintaining good medical practice
* Participate in CPD, annual appraisal, and revalidation
* Attend monthly doctors' meetings and other CPD activities
Relationships with others
* Work with service users and carers to involve them in decision-making
* Collaborate with managers and colleagues for service improvement

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Medical Degree, GMC registration, participation in clinical audit
Experience
* Experience in evidence-based treatments for substance misuse
* Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and with other agencies
