Job Summary
:
The CT Technologist provides direct patient care by applying the skill of diagnostic imaging utilizing CT scanning equipment. They will assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients by producing diagnostic CT scans.
Essential Functions:
1. Confirm that all pertinent patient and procedural data is correct.
2. Performs computed tomography procedures.
3. Properly positions and immobilize patients on CT scanning cradles.
4. Makes radiation exposures by energizing scanner.
5. Performs intravenous injections and administers oral, rectal, and IV radiographic contracts agents specific to procedures.
6. Assists the radiologist with biopsies and drainage procedures.
7. Maintains a working knowledge of all CT IT systems, including Radiant and PACS.
8. Participates in on call rotation and timeout as required.
Education:
9. Associate's from an ARRT accredited institute (preferred)
Licensure/Certification:
10. Basic Life Support (BLS) – American Heart Association (required)
11. Registration with the American Registry of Radiologist Technologists (ARRT) (preferred)
12. Advanced modality registration in CT, ARRT (preferred, or must obtain within 2 years)
13. State Licensure (preferred)
Experience:
14. 1 year of experience as a CT or Rad Tech (preferred)
15. EPIC Electronic Health Record (EHR) (preferred)
16. Picture Archiving Communication System (PACS) (preferred)
