Reporting to: Head of Sales & Business Development

A full driving licence is required for this role.

The Little Green Energy Company (TLGEC) is a leading consultancy, design, and installation team in the Kent & Southeast region, specializing in solar panel renewable energy for both commercial and residential sectors. Established in 2010, we are committed to delivering high-quality services and have recently become part of Hometree Group, a prominent UK home energy services provider.


The Role

We are seeking a passionate and technically skilled Solar Designer to lead our design, sales, and installation initiatives. You will manage the end-to-end design process, including site surveys, system design, and recommending optimal products and methods. Your expertise will support our growth and help us deliver sustainable energy solutions.


Responsibilities

* Design and integrate solar products, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
* Work with architectural drawings and manufacturer tools for framing system design.
* Provide technical support to sales and project teams.
* Perform electrical calculations and liaise with manufacturers.
* Use data to accurately size systems and batteries.
* Monitor system performance and coordinate with manufacturers for fixes.
* Manage DNO submissions and grid compliance procedures.
* Ensure adherence to MCS standards and regulations.
* Create system layouts using solar design software and CAD tools.
* Engage with customers and update CRM systems.


Qualifications

* Strong understanding of renewable energy products and systems.
* Familiarity with roof structures and mounting systems.
* Ability to interpret architectural drawings and use CAD software.
* Electrical principles knowledge, including cable sizing and protections.
* Analytical skills for data analysis and system optimization.
* Knowledge of compliance standards such as MCS, G99, G100.
* Attention to detail and documentation skills.
* Proficiency in solar design software and Excel.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Proactive attitude and eagerness to learn.
