The role of the Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis (CF) team coordinator will work within University Hospitals Bristol & Weston and be responsible for providing comprehensive administrative services and secretarial support to the Paediatric Cystic Fibrosis team. The role incorporates a wide range of duties underpinned by having a willingness to learn and understand the CF service it provides to its stakeholders. As a core member of the team, you will be expected to be proactive and take the initiative both individually and as part of the team. The post holder should have the ability to communicate and liaise with a broad range of contacts and to work under pressure to meet service requirements, actively contributing to the delivery of a high quality, safe and efficient service for children, young people and their families

Communication: Act as a key point of contact for staff across the Bristol Paediatric MDT, shared care teams and relevant services via phone and email.
Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and carers, demonstrating empathy and professionalism, including in challenging situations.
Manage and respond to queries promptly, keeping stakeholders informed and escalating issues to the team lead.

Patient Care: Maintain a caring, professional and empathetic approach when supporting patients, relatives and carers, including those who may be distressed.

Finance and Resources:

Maintain, order and/or receipt stationery and essential items, in line with Trust policies.

Maintain monthly finance data as required.

Assess quality, and identifying where improvements can be made.

Information Resources:

Edit and proof read clinical correspondence using the Trust’s digital dictation systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with turnaround times.
Use Trust systems to manage patient information and demographics, and monitor shared inboxes and messages daily.
Keep up to date with departmental and Trust-wide communications.

Other:

Act with flexibility to utilise skills in other ways if appropriate or required by the line manager.

Maintain confidentiality and discretion and comply with the terms of the Data Protection Act 2018 as well as local and Trust policies at all time.

Attend training courses as required. Assist in training and supporting new members of the team.
