Are you an experienced electrical engineer looking to make a meaningful impact in a complex and rewarding environment? We’re seeking a proactive and technically skilled Building Services Engineer (Electrical) to join our Campus Infrastructure team.
In this key role, you will support the Head of Engineering Services in ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of electrical systems across our estate. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Managing the operation and maintenance of electrical systems, including HV and LV networks, lifts, fire alarms, lighting, and air conditioning
2. Providing expert technical support to in-house teams and contractors
3. Leading the development and delivery of planned maintenance and compliance strategies
4. Overseeing electrical installation and maintenance projects from design to handover
5. Contributing to long-term maintenance planning, risk assessments, and technical documentation
We’re looking for someone with:
* An HNC in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Building Services (or an ONC with equivalent experience)
* High-level technical competence in LV systems and safety
* A strong understanding of BS 7671, EAW Regulations, and related guidance
* Proven experience managing complex electrical projects
* Excellent communication, planning, and IT skills
* A functional understanding of HV (11kV) systems
* IOSH certification or equivalent experience/knowledge
* Experience with Amtech, Hevacomp, AutoCAD or similar tools
* Familiarity with JCT contracts or similar electrical design tools
This role is offered on a full-time (36.5 hours per week), permanent basis, with participation in a 24-hour duty manager on-call rota, for which additional payment is provided.
