Associate, Part-time, Weekends and Monday Evenings

Hours: 144 per academic year (Sept
July)
Qualifications and Experience Required
Hold a Level 4 or above qualification in Therapeutic Counselling (minimum 420 hours), e.g. TC-L4 or equivalent.
Minimum 10 hours of personal therapy completed.
Membership of a recognised professional body for Counselling or Psychotherapy.
Commitment to 30 hours per year of CPD activities.
Current practitioner with a minimum of 450 counselling hours or with 2 years supervised counselling practice.
Supervisor qualification or 1 years experience of providing supervision to groups in a counselling setting.
A recognised teaching qualification
Minimum of 2-years teaching and assessing experience at Levels 2 and 3.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Preparation
Design and deliver engaging schemes of work and lesson plans that meet Sysco and awarding body standards.
Prepare high-quality teaching resources, including digital materials in line with organisational strategy.
Maintain accurate registers, learner records, and performance data.
Teaching & Delivery
Deliver learning in both classroom and online settings, ensuring sessions are current, relevant, and engaging.
Demonstrate reflective practice to continually improve delivery, assessment, and learner experience.
Embed English, Maths, ICT, British Values, and Employability themes into teaching.
Ensure all learning activities are delivered safely and inclusively.
Assessment & Progress Monitoring
Set, mark, and record assessments in line with awarding body standards.
Provide timely, constructive feedback to support learner development.
Track and report learner progress, ensuring interventions are made where required.
Quality & Continuous Improvement
Contribute to Syscos self-assessment and quality improvement processes.
Participate in lesson observations, performance appraisals, and CPD activities.
Learner Support & Administration
Provide academic, pastoral, and personal support to learners, including progression advice and placement readiness checks.
Conduct guidance interviews and support enrolment processes.
Maintain accurate records of attendance, achievement, and learner engagement.
Engage with parents/guardians and contribute to learner enrichment activities.
Professional Practice
Undertake Internal Verification and/or assessment responsibilities, as required.
Uphold Syscos policies on Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, Health & Safety, and Safeguarding.
Commit to ongoing professional development and training.
Carry out any additional duties as reasonably requested by the organisation.
Salary
The contract is for an associate tutor recruited on a self-employed basis.
£5980 per academic year
Teaching hours - £40 per hour (to include marking and preparation) x 144 per academic year
Meetings - £20 per hour x 11 per academic year
