Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated person to complete our team as a kitchen assistant, in our 24 bedded care home. We will also require some flexibility to cover sickness and holiday leave. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and an understanding of food safety and hygiene standards, although we will train you. Small friendly team in an excellent care home.
Duties
* Ensure all food is prepared in compliance with food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
* Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, including proper storage of ingredients and equipment.
* Collaborate with kitchen/care staff to ensure efficient meal preparation and service.
* Monitor stock levels of ingredients and supplies, reporting any shortages to management.
* Participate in regular kitchen meetings to discuss menu changes, improvements, and feedback.
Qualifications
* Familiarity with food safety standards and regulations, or willingness to train.
* Ability to work efficiently.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
* Flexibility to work various shifts as required to cover sickness and holiday.
