Retail Store Manager
£27,336 - £32,067 per annum plus benefits. Reports to: Area manager. Department: Trading. Contract: Permanent. Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week. Location: St Annes Shop. Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK. Closing date: 21st June 2026 at 23:55.
Responsibilities
* Guide, inspire and engage a team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention and development of a diverse shop team.
* Take ownership and responsibility for the commercial running of the store including display and merchandising, stock management, maintaining shop standards and layout, sales and income.
* Lead by example and provide excellent customer and supporter service.
* Maximise profit through effective cost control and sales.
* Create relationships with the local community and Cancer Research UK colleagues.
* Organise and run creative fundraising events for the store to achieve fundraising targets.
* Maintain compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, administration and HR policies.
* Perform manual handling and physical activity as required.
Qualifications
* Experience of managing and inspiring a diverse team of people.
* Comfort working within targets and motivating others to achieve those targets.
* The ability to multi‑task in a lively environment.
* Working knowledge of what makes great customer service.
* Commercial awareness.
* Knowledge of high street fashion retail.
* Adaptability in changing situations, including the ability to work effectively independently.
* Awareness of the price, value and worth of items.
* Flexibility to work on a rota basis while balancing personal commitments.
* Eligibility to work in the UK. Age 18 or older. Basic DBS check required.
