What you’ll do
As a Principal Network Engineer you will be responsible for technical ownership of the Vodafone service to the customer account, support management and provide inspired technical leadership to a team of highly skilled engineers working on a large strategic account. This includes providing professional data network expertise in management and delivery of network installation with ability to troubleshoot, resolve and monitor data faults within a complex data customer network.
* Knowledge and experience of LAN/WAN and Wireless LAN concepts, equipment (Cisco), including TCP/IP, MPLS, QoS, VLAN’s, Cisco Call Manager.
* Knowledge of security best practices.
* Extensive experience in an operational environment, preferably in a ‘complex technology delivery’ role.
* Comprehensive knowledge within their primary technology field.
* Strong knowledge of multi-technology Solutions.
* A broad understanding of the other technologies these solutions are dependent on.
* Good interpersonal skills – sensitive to customer’s needs, and able to present complex information both internally and to the target customer.
Who you are
* Extensive experience in an operational environment, preferably in a ‘complex technology delivery’ role.
* Comprehensive knowledge within their primary technology field.
* Strong knowledge of multi-technology Solutions.
* A broad understanding of the other technologies these solutions are dependent on.
* Broad experience of continuous: Process, Systems, and Capability improvements.
* Ability to adapt to different business drivers and complex change.
* Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
* Detailed technical knowledge of network transmission (Ericsson OMS; ABB Fox) and Telephony equipment (CUCM; CUCME; IP Trade) ·
* Experience with a working knowledge of network NMC / NMS
Desired technical skills/professional qualifications:
* Full SC Security Clearance or the ability to obtain
* LAN/ WAN (Cisco CCNA) or 5 years experience.
* Cisco Call Manager (CCNA) or 5 years experience.
* Understanding of ITIL methodologies and best practices.
