Our client is aspecialist childrens home provider based in Poole, Dorset, offeringtherapeutic care for children aged 411 yearswho have experienced trauma in early relationships.
Each home supportsup to two children, creating asafe, stable, and nurturing environmentwhere healing and growth can flourish.
TheirTherapeutic Re-Parenting Pathwayfocuses on assessment, intervention, and transition planning to help children move toward long-term family life through foster care, adoption, kinship, or reunification.

The Role
Were recruitingTherapeutic Parents (Residential Childcare Workers)to join this highly nurturing service.
Youll work2 days on / 4 days off, averaging38.5 hours per weekwith regular sleep-ins.
In this role, youll act as aconsistent, caring figurefor children who have experienced trauma, supporting their daily routines, emotional wellbeing, and personal growth within a small, family-style home.
Youll also work collaboratively withsocial workers, therapists, psychologists, and teachersto deliver personalised, trauma-informed care plans.
Key Responsibilities
* Providehigh-quality therapeutic carein a nurturing home environment.
* Buildtrusting relationshipswith children using thePACE model(Playfulness, Acceptance, Curiosity, Empathy).
* Support daily routines, hobbies, and enrichment activities.
* Work closely with theclinical and care teamto deliver tailored interventions.
* Participate inreflective practice sessionsand ongoing training.
* Maintain accuratecare plans and records, ensuring safety and consistency.
* Support education, administer medication, and contribute to a positive home environment.
About You
Essential:
* Experience working withchildren or young people, ideally with social, emotional, or mental-health needs.
* Commitment totrauma-informed, child-centred practice.
* Emotional resilience and calm under pressure.
* Strong teamwork and communication skills.
* Flexibility to work shifts, including sleep-ins.
* Full UK Driving Licenceandage 21+(due to Ofsted regulations).
Desirable:
* Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
* Familiarity withPACEorDDPtherapeutic approaches.
* Knowledge ofSEMH, attachment, autism, or ADHD.
