Fire Life Safety Manager
We have a position for a Fire Life Safety Manager to join us in leading our Fire and Life Safety operations here at Shangri-La Hotel, The Shard. You will be working closely with our Assistant Director of Engineering to assist in managing the Fire Life Safety and contributing to the safe and compliant operation of our hotel. This includes ensuring that the staff is trained in accordance with the requirements of the Fire Safety Management Manual and current London regulations.
Our Fire Life Safety Manager is responsible for the operations, maintenance, and compliance of all fire safety systems and procedures within the hotel. You will need to have a comprehensive understanding of fire detection, alarm, and suppression systems, as well as emergency evacuation protocols, to perform your job efficiently and effectively. Our goal is to ensure the hotel operates in full compliance with all fire and life safety regulations, while supporting and leading team members and safeguarding our guests, staff, and property. You will monitor and oversee all fire detection and suppression systems, emergency lighting, evacuation procedures, fire risk assessments, and regulatory compliance to ensure a safe environment for all hotel operations.
You will play a key role not just as part of the Engineering and Safety teams, but also as part of the Shangri-La Groupand therefore be committed to our core values: humility, courtesy, respect, helpfulness, and sincerity.
What were looking for:
Leadership skills and experience in a comparative Fire Life Safety Manager role
Strong knowledge of London fire and life safety regulations and compliance standards
Previous experience working as a Fire Life Safety Manager within a hotel or comparable environment
Fire and life safety certifications, Fire Risk Assessor, or equivalent is desirable
Experience in a luxury, 5 Star Hotel environment
Flexibility, reliability, and adaptability
Oral and written fluency in English
Confidence in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment
Strong analytical skills, hands-on problem solving, and practical fire safety knowledge
Proficiency in reporting, compliance software, and basic IT troubleshooting
