Care & Custody, a division of Mitie, specializes in delivering essential public services, primarily to vulnerable adults within the immigration, justice, and care sectors. As the largest provider of immigration removal centre management and secure escorting services for the Home Office, we serve over 13,000 detainees. Additionally, we provide prison facilities management services for the Ministry of Justice and deliver secure health services to over 60 police custody suites across England and Wales. Our priority is ensuring the safety, dignity, and respect of those in our care, while driving positive outcomes within the community.


Role Description

There are full‑time and part‑time on‑site roles based in Hatfield and a part‑time role in Stevenage for Police Custody Nurse or Paramedics. The professional in these roles will be responsible for delivering high‑quality healthcare services to individuals within police custody suites. Duties include conducting health assessments, providing appropriate medical care, supporting individuals experiencing mental health issues, and preparing documentation for use in legal and law enforcement processes. The role also involves working collaboratively with police staff, delivering health advice, and attending to emergencies when required to ensure the safety and well‑being of detainees.

Suitable environments include Accident & Emergency (A&E), General Practice, Emergency Medicine, Acute Medicine, Prison Healthcare, or the Ambulance Service. This experience should demonstrate your ability to deliver high‑quality care, work under pressure, and manage diverse clinical situations effectively.

You must have a driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
