Job Description
3. Leading and managing investigations and strategic litigation on children's rights
4. Providing legal analysis, advice, and representation to support the organisation's statutory duties
5. Collaborating across teams and with external stakeholders to influence law, policy, and practice
6. Engaging directly with children and young people to ensure their voices shape legal work
7. Instructing counsel, preparing legal submissions, and contributing to high-profile public interest work
The Successful Applicant
8. A solicitor or equivalent with 5+ years' litigation experience in a fast-paced legal environment
9. Skilled in public and human rights law, ideally with experience in strategic or public interest litigation
10. Committed to rights-based, child-centred practice and ethical legal standards
11. Comfortable engaging with children and young people and working collaboratively across disciplines
12. Familiar with Scots law, human rights instruments, and UNCRC obligations (desirable)
13. Experience in Court of Session litigation with significant experience of conducting the Edinburgh Agency side
