An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Highway Communications Officer to come and join a busy client in the Manchester area on an initial 6 month contract basis. The main duties of the experience Highway Communications Officer are: Coordinate and communicate information relating to road closures, roadworks, traffic management measures and highway improvement projects. Prepare, draft and distribute stakeholder communications including letters, emails, notices, briefings and project updates. Act as a key point of contact for residents, businesses, councillors, contractors, utility companies, emergency services and other stakeholders. Respond to enquiries and correspondence in a professional, timely and customer-focused manner. Manage and monitor shared inboxes, ensuring enquiries are logged, tracked and responded to within agreed timescales. Liaise with internal departments, highways engineers, project managers and external partners to gather and share information. Support the planning and delivery of stakeholder engagement and public consultation activities. Maintain accurate records, databases, stakeholder contact lists and communication logs. Coordinate stakeholder notifications and communications in line with project programmes and deadlines.
