Electrical Design Engineer
The Electrical Design Engineer will collaborate with a talented team of engineers to deliver technical solutions that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.
Produce conceptual designs, detailed designs, integration/installation drawings, design specifications, operational documentation, and validation evidence for electrical engineering solutions.
Work closely with other design engineers to ensure the seamless integration of electrical systems into the overall project design.
Ensure all electrical design solutions meet safety, quality, technical, and commercial requirements.
Manage third-party designers, ensuring their designs meet project requirements. Provide design support to installation and commissioning teams to ensure smooth implementation.
Lead and participate in internal and external design review meetings, providing expertise and guidance on electrical design matters.
Identify and support opportunities for cost savings, efficiency improvements, and overall business improvements within electrical design processes.
Assist in preparing technical tenders and budgets, providing electrical design input to ensure accurate scope definition.
Handle requests for quotations (RFQs) for specialist equipment related to electrical systems.
Generate and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) for electrical systems and components.
To be considered for this role, applicants will need to be qualified with a degree or higher education qualification (HNC/HND) in electrical engineering, along with strong post-qualification experience in a design environment. A background in electrical design in the marine industry may well suit this role due to the need for design for installations within small and restricted spaces. Experience of the integration of multiple services within containerised or modular builds, or within the marine sector, would be a significant advantage. You will need to be proficient in the use of Autodesk AutoCAD (ideally with other 3D packages), as well as Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel & Outlook.
Simulation and analysis tools for electrical systems (such as ‘Trimble MEP’ / DIALux / Relux).
EMC and Tempest installations.

Salary negotiable to £48k based on experience.
