Overview
Assistant Patient Pathway Coordinator Oncology & Colposcopy role at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust is being recruited for within the Gynaecology Division. The post holder will provide a comprehensive, professional administrative service and will supervise and monitor staff within their team. These roles are crucial in supporting patients from initial referral through to treatment and discharge, working closely with Medical and Nursing teams.
Based in the Oncology & Colposcopy clinical team, the post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative and clerical issues relating to patients’ pathway of care, tracking and supporting them from referral to treatment and/or discharge.
Responsibilities
* Provide dedicated administrative and clerical support to the Oncology & Colposcopy team, contributing to continuous improvement of the service.
* Support Lead Patient Pathway Coordinators and Ward Clerk Assistants to ensure a comprehensive service to Consultants and their teams.
* Coordinate patient pathways, liaising with staff at all levels and working as part of a team or autonomously as required.
* Engage with patients daily regarding their care and the next steps in their pathway.
* Demonstrate attention to detail and strong organisational skills; manage changing priorities calmly and professionally to ensure smooth service delivery.
* Utilise MS software and data collection tools effectively, with an understanding of clinical pathways and medical terminology; willingness to learn.
Qualifications / Requirements
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to liaise with staff at all levels.
* Ability to multi-task, work autonomously, and be flexible in approach; strong team collaboration skills.
* Good working knowledge of MS software and data collection.
* Experience in a relevant hospital or administrative role and an understanding of clinical pathways and medical terminology; willingness and enthusiasm to learn.
