Apprentice Greenkeeper

Droitwich Golf club are looking for an Apprentice Greenkeeper to join an energetic team. You will learn all aspects of managing 100 acres of a highly regarded and maintained sports facility within the rural countryside of Droitwich. Caring for the overall appearance of a golf course, maintaining a good quality playing surface and ensuring a challenging and enjoyable experience for Members, visitors and societies.
The successful candidate will undertake work under the supervision of the course manager working across 100 acres on an 18-hole golf course, driving range and gardens. We are looking to recruit a hardworking, passionate and flexible personal who is looking to develop a career within the sports turf industry.
· The successful candidate will undertake and work towards Level 2 Golf Greenkeeping Apprenticeship which will enable you to learn the skills required of the position
· Always maintain a professional and welcoming approach when dealing with Staff, members, guests and visitors.
· Carry out routine golf course maintenance tasks as directed by the Course Manager.
· To work flexible hours plus extra hours if needed throughout the year.
· Assisting to maintain the golf course in accordance with specifics laid out by the Course manager.
· Assisting to set up the course, including changing holes, moving tee markers, indicating OOB (out of bounds) and additional golfing hazards as directed by the rules of the club.
· Assisting to cut tees, greens, surrounds, fairway, rough and semi-rough to a high standard.
· Assist to ensure safe and effective control of all machinery, tools, fertilizers and chemicals stored within the grounds maintenance facility as directed by the Course Manager
· Report to the Course manager if any incidents or problems are brought to your attention from customers or staff.
· Ensure all faults and defects relating to the condition of the course, equipment, tools, buildings etc, within the remit of grounds maintenance are reported to the Course manager.
· Comply with company policies, rules and procedures always.

Working Hours
40 hours weekly including flexible hours, working weekends and overtime.
Annual salary will depend on experience and age.
Weekend work is paid as overtime.
Summer hours April – October 6am to 2pm
Winter hours November – March 630am to 2.30pm
