We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants - Special Needs for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during the 2026 school year. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

We are seeking to establish a pool of Education Assistants – Special Needs (EASN) who are motivated to support students with a range of abilities to grow and achieve.

The Role

Suitable applicants should assist in the implementation of specialised education programs and maintain a supportive, inclusive environment to meet the specific needs of students. Suitable applicants should display a commitment to working collaboratively and building positive relationships with students, parents, staff and the wider community. Applicants should be motivated to assist students to grow through the development of their academic achievement, social and communicative skills, and engage in positive behaviour support. As a suitable applicant you will ideally be able to use a preventative and restorative approach to build positive, trusting relationships with students.

Experience with supporting students with disabilities is highly desirable, with EASN’s working across the school, including the Endorsed Education Support Program. Ability to implement Individual Education plans, Behaviour Support Plans, and support students daily living requirements is an important component of the role. Experience in supporting students with a range of high and low-tech Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) is preferred. As a suitable applicant, you should provide feedback on education and therapy programs and participate in evaluating the achievement of individual education goals.

2. obtain a valid Working With Children Check before you start; and
3. consent to a and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education’s Screening Unit before you start.

Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of health and physical disabilities in students and adolescents. Demonstrated effective organisational skills that will assist in the delivery of effective education programs and subsequent feedback and evaluation to teachers or psychologists. Demonstrated ability to assist with the general health and well being of students.
