As the Deputy Pharmacy Production Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, efficacy, and compliance of pharmaceutical products manufactured at UHBW Trust. You will work alongside Pharmacists, Technicians and Scientists to advance healthcare and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting the Associate Director of Pharmacy – Production in leading the Pharmacy Production Unit and providing highly specialist Pharmacist input.
* Maintaining and progressing operations, quality management systems and people services within the unit.
* Operational involvement in all aspects of the department and participation as an Authorised Pharmacist in the supervision, checking and release of products.
* Acting as the departmental lead for Clinical Trials and Investigational Medicinal Products, working closely with the unit’s in‑house Quality Assurance Team in the implementation of new products, processes, systems and equipment, and maintaining all aspects of the unit’s Quality Management Systems.
* Providing a dispensing service for outsourced unlicensed products such as Total Parenteral Nutrition.
* Managing the production of CIVAS, Monoclonal Antibodies, Investigational Medicinal Products, ATMPs, aseptic batches, non‑sterile batches and extemporaneous preparations.
* Ensuring compliance with NHS, MHRA and CQC standards.
Qualifications & Experience
Experience in a pharmacy production environment, with a strong knowledge of GMP, MHRA accreditation, aseptic manufacturing, and a proven ability to lead quality systems and clinical trials is essential. Experience in a technical services pharmacist role is desirable.
Other qualifications may include a relevant degree, appropriate pharmacy registration and experience in overseeing clinical trial product manufacture.
