A welcoming primary school in Wiltshire is seeking an enthusiastic Year 1 Teacher to join the team from January 2026. The successful Year 1 Teacher will deliver a structured phonics programme, plan progressive daily lessons and build strong foundations in early reading, writing and number. This Year 1 Teacher role in Wiltshire will begin January 2026, with induction and handover arranged in the weeks before January 2026 so the new Year 1 Teacher can start the spring term confidently. • Year 1 Teacher required for a full-time KS1 post • Year 1 Teacher required to work within a supportive primary in Wiltshire • Year 1 Teacher to join a friendly, ambitious KS1 phase The Year 1 Teacher will design engaging, differentiated lessons that secure progress for all learners, lead guided reading and small-group work, and work closely with teaching assistants to scaffold learning. The Year 1 Teacher will also maintain accurate assessment records, communicate with families and contribute to year-group planning across the Wiltshire school. We welcome Year 1 Teacher applicants who are reflective, organised and passionate about early primary practice. Responsibilities Plan and deliver high-quality Year 1 lessons that develop phonics, early reading and number sense. Use formative assessment to identify next steps and run timely small-group interventions. Work with teaching assistants to scaffold learning and adapt resources for differing needs. Maintain records of progress, contribute to moderation and report outcomes to families. Support whole-school events and contribute to the life of the Wiltshire school community. Person specification Qualified teacher with recent KS1 experience and demonstrable impact in Year 1. Strong phonics knowledge, assessment practice and classroom management. Calm, organised and committed to working in Wiltshire, available to start January 2026. Comfortable contributing to CPD and year-group collaboration across the school.
