Community Services are looking to recruit a Therapy Lead. This is an exciting role supporting Community Services and ultimately working to improve patient care and safety.
The role will be operationally responsible for a range of community therapy services provided by combined Physiotherapy and occupational theray teams. The post holder will support with Clinical Governance, learning and service improvement and patient safety. This will include involvement with incidents, patient safety investigations, complaints, inquests, clinical policies and education. The role will support with and recognise learning and improvements required within the service which will feed into the wider care group and contribute to themes and learning which cross over a multitude of teams. They will work closely with all services in the care group and corporate colleagues to achieve this. The post requires in depth knowledge of the all apects of Community therapy services.
Main duties of the job
The purpose of this job is to manage community and specialist theapy services: To be operationally responsible for a number of teams across Co Durham and Darlington.
* Operationally manage and/ or provide leadership to a range of clinical services within a strong governance framework;
* Demonstrate robust understanding of managing and delivering community services
* Responsible for service delivery within agreed financial and performance targets;
* Develop links with other health, social care and commercial organisations to ensure that Community Services crisis is delivered
* Responsible for the development, implementation and monitoring of continuous improvement activity within relevant service areas;
* Promote and develop a culture of a learning organisation and continuous development;
* Ensure that quality standards are met to maintain a consistently high standard of patient/client care;
* Be a role model, demonstrating strong leadership behaviours and competencies to drive operational quality improvement;
Specifically, they will provide support and advice to others around Clinical Governance and provide assurance around governance

We provide hospital services from two acute sites - Darlington Memorial Hospital and University Hospital of North Durham. We have a centre for planned care in Bishop Auckland and provide care from community hospitals in Chester-le-Street, Shotley Bridge, Barnard Castle, Sedgefield and Weardale as well as over 80 other community based settings and providing care in patients' homes.
