Salisbury Foundation NHS Trust have an exciting opportunity for a Paediatric Sister/Charge Nurse who is passionate, motivated and committed to the care of children and young people to come and join our team on Sarum Ward.
We have created a bright and welcoming environment and have16 inpatient beds catering to children and young people aged 0-16 years. Woodlands Children's Day Assessment Unit is also included in the footprint of Sarum Ward and is open until late in the evening. We provide specialised care for a range of specialties including general paediatrics, orthopaedics, ENT, and general surgery. In addition we are the regional centre for burns and plastics accepting referrals from as far as Jersey. We are also one of nine hospitals in England who collaborate with the esteemed Spire Cleft Centre performing cleft lip and palate repairs to children within the region. Additionally, we are a Paediatric Oncology Shared Care Unit and link closely with Southampton University Hospital ensuring comprehensive and compassionate care.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you'll also collaborate with various departments within the hospital, including the Children's Emergency Department, Day Surgical Unit, and our Neonatal Unit.
They will also show initiative and drive to working together, not only in continuation of their own professional development but to reach our ultimate goal in providing outstanding care to children, young people and their families.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will be a clearly identifiable senior clinical staff member and team leader.
They will have significant clinical experience in the care of children, young people and their families in an acute paediatric setting .
They will be able to provide evidence based clinical expertise to their team, coordinating and delivering high quality care.
They will be a role model for expert clinical care and lead on specific projects/ management responsibilities as delegated by the Ward Lead.
They will role model the identified Trust values, deputising for the Ward Lead in their absence.

Education, Qualifications and Training
Essential criteria
1. Current RN child registration, registered with NMC
2. Nursing degree/ diploma, evidence of working at level 6/7
3. Evidence of recent ongoing professional development
4. Relevant post registration qualifications in speciality
5. Mentorship/ teaching / Assessing course
Desirable criteria
6. Completion of leadership/ management course
Experience
Essential criteria
7. Proven clinical experience in an acute paediatric setting
8. Experience of taking charge / coordinating acute paediatric ward
9. Evidence of teaching and assessing
10. Experience of working within a MDT

11. Experience in quality improvement projects or change initiatives
