An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Principal Commissioning Manager to play a pivotal role in delivering this programme.## About the roleThe Principal Commissioning Manager provides strategic leadership and technical authority for all commissioning across Anglian Water’s entire capital delivery portfolio, valued at £3.2bn+ in AMP8. This includes all mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, control and process treatment systems.You’ll act as Anglian Water’s Commissioning Technical Authority, ensuring assets are commissioned safely, compliantly and right-first-time, ready for 24/7 operation.## What you’ll be doingReporting to the Engineering Director, you’ll provide both direct leadership and strategic oversight across the commissioning function.· Lead the commissioning delivery for @one Alliance & SPA, managing a team of 42+ commissioning professionals· Set the commissioning strategy, methodology, standards and governance across Anglian Water’s capital delivery portfolio.· Provide strategic commissioning advisory and capability development for the IOS Alliance and Major Infrastructure programmes.· Act as executive-level interface with Operations, Capital Delivery, Regulators and Programme Delivery Partners.· Ensure full compliance with DWI, Environment Agency and Ofwat requirements, driving high-quality operational handover.· Own and author Anglian Water’s enterprise commissioning process and procedures, embedding consistency, quality and continuous improvement.· Provide technical assurance across commissioning, including FAT / SAT, Integrated System Testing and operational transition.· Lead commissioning capability development, succession planning and talent pipeline creation across Anglian Water and its delivery partners.· Maintain strong budgetary and commercial oversight, with influence over £260m+ annual commissioning assurance and sign-off.· Champion Safer Every Day, promoting excellence in Health, Safety, Wellbeing and process safety across all commissioning activities.What you’ll bring· Significant senior-level experience leading commissioning within major regulated infrastructure programmes.· Deep technical knowledge across M&E, I&C, process treatment and complex system integration.· Proven experience operating as a technical authority, setting standards and providing enterprise-wide assurance.· Strong leadership capability with experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams.· Confidence engaging with executive stakeholders, regulators and delivery partners.· A strong safety-led mindset, with a commitment to zero-defect commissioning and operational readiness.At Anglian Water, our people are at the heart of everything we do, and we ensure their hard work is recognised and rewarded.
