Overview
Technical Advisor - Maritime Cranes role at Liebherr Group. This vacancy is in the Maritime Cranes department based in Biggleswade and covers the UK and Ireland. The role contributes to Liebherr – Great Britain Ltd by providing effective and efficient advice and support, along with strong administrative, customer service and interpersonal skills within the company’s key result areas: Business Performance, Customer Focus, People and Teamwork, Leadership.
Responsibilities
* Visiting sites to investigate technical problems and communicating with customers, factories and LGB to provide a technically lead solution.
* Assisting the Technical Manager with customer complaints related to invoice disputes.
* Providing a dedicated support line for customers and using this to develop outstanding rapport and relationships.
* Circulating information and investigation details via written reports.
* Obtaining suitable solutions from Liebherr factories on technical issues and warranty claims.
* Raising warranty orders, sales orders, work orders, purchase requests and invoices internally and to customers.
* Processing warranty claims and ensuring that returned warranty parts are sent back to the relevant factory with correct documentation.
* Supporting the hands-on element of operations by undertaking out-of-hours responses as required.
* Assisting in the management of service engineers and optimising their utilisation.
* Promoting all aspects of the After Sales Department.
* Promoting and preparing parts and service quotations.
* Developing an effective working relationship with the after sales team and supporting others where required.
* Escalating appropriate action for broken or damaged company equipment.
* Using the operating system (BAAN) to manage processes such as sales orders, warranty orders, purchase orders, stock checks and pricing of spare parts.
* Preparing and submitting detailed reports and feedback for every investigation undertaken, including customer reports if required.
* Proactively seeking new opportunities to develop personal skills and applying them where appropriate in the role.
* Taking the initiative to liaise with various support Liebherr factories as required.
* Undertaking all work in accordance with the company’s Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental policies; preparing risk assessments and method statements and implementing safe systems of work as necessary.
* Undertaking training as required by the company, both at the workplace and off site, including overseas.
* Representing the division at meetings and exhibitions as required.
To be successful in the Technical Advisor role
* Sound knowledge of modern plant electrical and hydraulic systems.
* An excellent understanding of control systems and IT-based diagnostics.
* Good communicator at all levels.
* Flexible approach to work.
* Ability to use own initiative.
* Able to demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a pressurised environment.
