About us
Berkshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust (BHFT) was formed in April 2001 and became a licensed Foundation Trust in May 2007. In April 2011, the community services, previously the provider arms of NHS Berkshire East and NHS Berkshire West PCTs, merged with the Trust.
The main population centers are Reading in the West and Slough in the East, with major populations also in Newbury, Wokingham, Bracknell, Maidenhead, Windsor, and Ascot, along with significant urban developments in smaller towns along the M4 Corridor.
Berkshire features both affluent and deprived communities, with the Trust being part of two Integrated Care Systems (Frimley ICS and Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire & Berkshire West ICS) and partnering with six local authorities.
The trust holds an outstanding CQC rating and employs over 4000 staff across more than 100 sites.
