Cardiac Physiologist, Band 5 (x 3 vacancies)

To provide a wide range of Cardiac Diagnostic tests in both Non - Invasive & Invasive Cardiology, as per a Band 5 Cardiac Physiology role.
To undertake training to gain experience to become a fully autonomous Cardiac Physiologist in addition to joining the PPCI on call rota when experienced to do so.
Additional contract details: 3 vacancies - all Band 5 Cardiac Physiologist
Additional working pattern details: Four long working days per week (3 x 8am-6pm & 1 x 8am-5.30pm)

Main duties of the job
The post holder will acquire and maintain a high level of professional competence in the performance of all tests, investigations and measurements carried out under the band 5 remit. They will be expected to interpret and act upon results of tests, investigations and measurements in accordance with departmental policies and procedures.
The post holder will work in a multidisciplinary team that includes other cardiac physiologists, assistant cardiac practitioners, radiographers, consultants and medical staff, nursing staff and all other personnel either hospital or externally based.
When appropriately trained and experienced, to perform in PCI & to participate in the 24/7 PPCI on call rota as required.
About us
The Cardiology department is particularly forward thinking with 13 Consultant Cardiologists. A wide range of procedures are performed within the department, including the three brand new catheter laboratories (complex device implantation & PCI).
The Trust provides an extensive follow-up service for all devices and includes a well-established remote follow-up service. The remote service has been expanded and developed during the Covid-19 pandemic.The successful candidate will be expected to rotate through both the Non - invasive and the invasive sections of the department. They will be autonomous is a variety of diagnostic investigations and will be offered training to increase their skills and knowledge accordingly.
The Cardiac Services are located on one site at the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital with a 3rd lab opened in January 2025, with a view to delivering EP locally.

Person Specification
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience
* BTEC, HTEC MPPM or degree in Clinical physiology or equivalent
* Various short courses to demonstrate up to date clinical knowledge
* RCCP registration or HCPC registration
* Promotes a positive team environment
* Ability to prioritise and organise own work load
* Experience with a variety of non-invasive and invasive cardiology procedures
* Exposure to a variety of Invasive cardiology procedures
* Variety of both non invasive & invasive diagnostic testing
