Family Support and Protection
Location: North West
Pay rate: £39 per hour
We are looking for experienced and passionate Social Workers to join a dedicated Family Support and Protection Team. As part of this Local Authority's Family Support and Protection Service, you will have a passion for making a difference to children. The team handles a mixed caseload of children on the Child Protection Register, children requiring Care and Support, and Children in Care Proceedings. This role has been created through significant investment to add capacity and build resilience and stability. You will have a manageable workload, excellent support, and time to spend with children and young people.
Working in accordance with social care legislation and local government requirements, you will support the delivery of person-centred, safe, and effective social care services. Using your professional knowledge and experience, you will make assessments and decisions about the most appropriate interventions. Applying your significant Social Work experience and excellent communication skills, you will establish and maintain relationships with service users and other agencies to ensure services meet identified needs.
You will be committed to ensuring positive and sustainable outcomes of your interventions. Using best practices, you will strive to provide the best outcomes for children. Most importantly, you will have a passion for supporting children and their families to thrive and flourish. Our priority is to protect the most vulnerable and to be as efficient as possible.
Perfect candidate will be:
* Qualified Social Worker registered with Social Work England.
* SW, CSS, DipSW, or Social Work Degree; creative, flexible, and forward-thinking in approach.
* Experience working in a Social Services Directorate or other Statutory or Voluntary Agency.
* Constantly striving for continuous improvement to provide the best outcomes for individuals and their families.
* Able to use excellent mediation and negotiation skills on behalf of service users.
* Experience working with a range of client groups within an agency.
* Highly skilled at building meaningful relationships with children and families to engage them in assessments and plans.
* Committed to providing high-quality services to users.
* Experienced in working in a multi-disciplinary, interagency basis.
* Knowledge of legislation relating to general social work practice.
* 4+ years qualified.
In this role, you will:
* Use your skills, knowledge, and experience to make comprehensive assessments of risks, protection, and social care needs.
* Manage an agreed caseload.
* Use specialist communication skills to achieve optimal outcomes for service users.
* Devise individual care plans, considering diversity, dignity, and empowerment.
* Offer advice and support to unqualified staff and students to aid development.
