Job overview

The Maternity department has an exciting opportunity for a band 3 Ward Clerk.

The post holder is responsible for providing an efficient and effective clerical support service to midwifery and medical staff at ward level. The postholder will promote and encourage a caring and sympathetic environment for clients, relatives and staff ensuring that high standards of service are continually maintained. The nature of duties undertaken within this post dictates that strict confidentiality is maintained at all times. r providing a professional, comprehensive, and efficient administrative service effectively delivered to all patients and department members. The post holder will need to demonstrate high levels of customer care and be an ambassador for customer care within the Trust.

Alongside the role you will complete the Level 2 Customer Service Practitioner apprenticeship. If you already hold a Customer Service qualification at Level 2 or above, you are not eligible to apply for this post.

To be eligible for an Apprenticeship you must meet the following criteria:

Be 18 years old or over

Have the right to work in the UK with a visa that covers the duration of the apprenticeship.

Have been permanently resident in the UK for the past 3 years

Main duties of the job

The postholder will have access to vulnerable people in the course of their normal duties and as such this post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975 (Amendment) (England and Wales) Order 2020 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service to check for any previous criminal convictions.
