We’re looking for experienced Finance Officers to join our friendly team based in Derby city centre. The Adult Social Care Finance team plays a key role in serving the people of Derby by ensuring that the care providers receive accurate payments for the services they provide, whilst also supporting residents in getting payments for their adult social care needs. The person we are looking for needs to feel comfortable and confident in communicating, both verbally and in writing, often complex financial information to a range of audiences.
This is an exciting time to join our existing Adult Social Care Finance team as you will be joining us during our transformation journey, utilising new technology and reviewing processes, to enable us to provide enhanced support, service and guidance to our customers and suppliers - so you should be happy in an environment that is evolving and changing.

The Opportunity
In the role of Finance Officer, here’s an example of what you’ll be doing to make an impact:
Using bespoke IT systems as required to provide accurate and timely payments to customers and providers, monitor payments and take recovery action where required in accordance with the appropriate legislation.
Carry out monitoring, reviews and reconciliation of customer accounts as required to ensure expenditure complies with the relevant legislation, Council Policy and procedures. This will include communicating and negotiating directly with customers, third-parties and providers.
Regularly communicating with a range of people including members of the public, providers, third-party agencies and internal colleagues to provide information, advice and support by phone, email, letter and face to face.
