Location: Burnley Salary: £14.25 - £15 per hour Start Date: ASAP or 1 st September 2026 Contract: Full-time We are looking to appoint a compassionate, resilient and committed Nurture Support Assistant to join our dedicated team at our primary school. This role is key to supporting pupils who may be experiencing social, emotional or behavioural challenges, helping them to feel safe, supported and ready to learn. Working closely with teaching staff and the SEN team, you will provide targeted interventions and nurture-based support to help pupils thrive both academically and personally. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with additional needs Build positive relationships that promote trust, resilience and emotional wellbeing Deliver nurture-based interventions and support programmes Support pupils in developing social skills, self-regulation and confidence Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO and pastoral staff Monitor and record pupil progress and behaviour Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment What We Offer A supportive and welcoming school environment Ongoing training in nurture approaches and SEND support Opportunities for professional development and career progression A strong focus on staff wellbeing The chance to make a real difference in pupils’ lives About You We are looking for someone who: Has experience working with children or young people (school or similar setting) Has a calm, patient and empathetic approach Understands the importance of emotional wellbeing in learning Can manage challenging behaviour positively and effectively Has excellent communication and teamwork skills Is committed to inclusion and safeguarding Experience with SEND, SEMH or nurture provision is highly desirable How to Apply To apply, please upload your CV, outlining all your relevant experience supporting children with SEN, SEMH and additional needs.
