Working as a Detention Custody Support Officer within our team will provide you with the opportunity to maintain high standards of security and safety whilst promoting the welfare and decency of residents within our care. This is a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same. As you gain experience within this challenging role, we will support you throughout your time to grow and develop. You will be responsible for supporting the Detention Custody Officers in our Short-Term Holding Facility at Manston.
Salary: £26,000, with excellent benefits
Working Hours: Shift pattern – 4 on 4 off, 42 hours per week, covering both days and nights, weekends, and bank holidays.
The site is operational 24/7, and your rolling roster covering 52 weeks will help you plan your work/life balance.

Requirements include residency in the UK for the past 5 years, UK citizenship, Commonwealth or EEC citizenship, a valid passport, and no restrictions on stay in the UK. Staff will be required to undergo an Enhanced DBS check and vetting to Counter Terrorist Checked (CTC). The position is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act.

Good communication skills are essential to support colleagues and deliver an exceptional service. You will be responsible for site security and providing a safe environment for colleagues and residents. Adaptability to different duties and responsibilities is crucial.
Training:
Upon passing our selection and vetting process, you'll undertake a one-week initial training course. Assessment dates are scheduled for August.
